“Great Question” (4points)

Mine would have to be Puzzle by Biffy Clyro (not a single bad track) but as I’m always interested in expanding my music collection what’s your absolute all time favourite album?
Nevermind by Nirvana is close second.

Candyass by Orgy was the soundtrack of my life in 8th grade. They were the first band I was ever obsessed with. I had a shrine of their pictures on my bedroom wall. I think my parents were a bit horrified. They didn’t want me to say the word “Orgy” out loud. Although, I don’t listen to them much anymore, I would still consider it to be one of my all time favorite albums.

More recently, Prowler in the Yard by Pig Destroyer. I can’t count how many times I’ve listened to it all the way through, reading along with the lyrics. It captivates me.

For all time classic, Dark Side. It’s a harder question than it used to be, though; I don’t buy albums anymore. I’ve probably got close to a thousand cds, and I haven’t listen to a single one in years. Between the iPod, Pandora, and satellite radio, I don’t even think of music in the same way anymore. The “album” is almost an anachronism, now.

Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here: because I absolutely love the song, ’‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’’. The link is to part 1 of the full 9-part version. It’s Rick Wakeman’s tribute to Sid Barrett, one of the founding members of the band who, after such a brilliant creative start, went insane and sat staring vacantly in a mental institution, and to the loss of his talent.

Excellent choice! One of my favorites. It’s nearly perfect (unlike Surfer Rosa’s supernatural perfection).
