I live about an hour north of NYC and there was no power when I woke up Sunday morning. My daughter was at my mom’s, so I ventured out and got some coffee from the local Dunkin Donuts, which had a line a mile long. Connecticut had no power (I live by CT border) and it was like a ghost town. The stores that are usually busy like Trader Joe’s were totally closed down, malls and gas stations closed up. I stayed home for the day, spoke on cell phone, cleaned my room. Went to my parents’ house and I am at work today, but will go home later to feed the frogs and cats and then back to my parents’ for the night. The food in the refrigerator will be no good, except stuff like grains. It will have to be all thrown out. I heard it could be days till the power comes on, because the crews are all super busy. I have a friend who lives in CT and she said it could be a week, she was told.
