You may try one of these.
First method
Separate 93¼ into like :
93¼ = 93 and ¼
93¼ = 93 + ¼
93¼ = 93 + 0.25
93¼ = 93.25
Second method
93¼ = 93 and ¼
93¼ = (93*4 + 1)/4
93¼ = 93.25
Converting fractions into decimals with regards to percentages
Remember you need a denominator 100 to get percentages (for manual calculations).
Example, take ¼.
Now, to make denominator 100, you need to multiply it by 25 (=100 / 4, or 100 / denominator). Multiplication should be done on both numerator as well as denominator to keep the value of fraction same.
¼ = (1*25)/(4*25)
¼ = 25/100
¼ = 0.25…(a number)
When you add percent ’%’...
When you add percent ’%’ to a number, you simply divide the number by 100. So, when you say 25 percent or 25%, it is (25/100), which is 0.25. Division by 100 is simple, take the numerator, add or move decimal point after two digits or places, counting from right to left of the number.
1234/100 = 12.34
4/100 = 0.04
12.34/100 = 0.1234
Conversely, you can also say (if it is related to percentages), 0.25 is 25%. In this case, multiply by 100, and add percent sign.Here, add or move decimal point to right by two digits
Therefore, when you take the percent sign out, divide by 100. And, when you add percent sign, do the reverse; multiply by 100.
