What are the best online schools for Graphic Design?

“Great Question” (1points)

I work 70 hours a week. I have no days off, and three days a week I work from 8 am to 11 pm. I WAS a junior in college, but due to some family issues and resulting financial trouble, I was not able to continue my education this fall. I was trying to work with Full Sail University so I could just do my school online, but I’ve had trouble getting people to contact me.
What are some other good schools that offer Graphic Design majors and are completely online? I have to say I’m really disappointed with Full Sail. I know a couple of people that have had great experiences with them, but they’re just not being helpful so I’ll take my money (or grants or whatever) elsewhere.

Is it possible to do part-time at your local school? Or some online and some in school? Either way, I recommend SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design.Very top of the line school and they offer something called “eLearning”. Just go to their website and click on the link that says that: http://www.scad.edu/

They’re a tad pricey though!

Don’t go to school for graphic design. What you study in graphic design is what others have already done. You can literally youtube & google everything you need to know about all the Adobe Suites, which most entities use corporately. What they want to see is your portfolio. So I would suggest, getting into a style all your own. Gather your own references (styles of images/designs you admire and want to emulate in your own way) and just keep creating. You’re too busy to pay for someone else to teach you what to do. I believe in you!

In case you do though, San Francisco Institute of Art offers online classes. The downfall of online, is the lack of networking. Without networking in the art industry, its beyond tough to make it. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

@dreamwolf, I guess I didn’t think about that! I started my own little business building websites a couple of months ago and so far I’m doing well. It’s just a side thing right now but if I get enough experience from that I could probably get a job anywhere! I guess I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing and see where things go.

@emjay Best of luck! Take it easy. Also, perhaps a community college around you will offer an online class. But be quick and vigilant, they ALWAYS fly off the availabilty list. :#
