If it’s good enough for Oprah (which I believe none would question as being a quality program) then it should be just fine for Fluther.
But when Oprah had Dr. Oz, (a respected heart surgeon) bring up the subject to discuss evidence of well-balanced diet and health, it provided a few chuckles. But it also provided very sensible health info and guidelines.
The first Q here on Fluther was asked in seriousness by someone recuperating from MAJOR gastric surgery. She wanted feedback from others since the estimate the Dr. gave her seemed pretty dubious. So, why not ask the collective about their own experiences?
The second (similar) Q was just being immature and stupid. But should that necessarily invalidate the first? Is that fair?
If someone doesn’t want to participate, just pass it by. There have most certainly have been FAR MORE unsavory (and/or downright frivolous) subjects raised before. Normalization of Pedophilia, anyone?
Why is this being singled out as so over the top? I don’t get it. I honestly don’t.
