Uhm, I just realized should have posted in Meta but can’t seem to edit in an iPad. Yikes.

I prefer to see an amount equal to the other questions posted about the same time. I usually ask stuff at night, and come to look at it in the morning. If there are a few more the next day I am pleased but I have lost track of the other threads so have nothing to compare it to.

I do the social/meta mess up all the time. Most often, the mods just move it for me and never say a word.

As long as a I get an answer I don’t care.

It really depends on the question. Some questions I would love to get many answers on, and others, I would be just as content with one if it actually tells me what I’m trying to figure out. For example, on this question, I appreciated getting many answers since it was more of a community type question. However, on this question, I would have been perfectly content only receiving this answer since it told me what I wanted to know. I think my most dissapointing question ever was this one. Perhaps I didn’t communicate clearly enough, but I don’t feel like anyone answered the question I was actually trying to ask.

I don’t care about the number of responses so much as the quality of them. I like to feel “heard” – that at least one person was connecting with the question. By the way, do the majority of questions that aren’t answered when they are fresh – say within the day, usually just lost in the shuffle? Anyone know how many “old” questions are likely to be viewed after they pass from the day’s activity?

@smilingheart1 I am constantly looking at old questions when I am bored. If they are not fresh I don’t hit GA or GC as often and I rarely post. I think the people who like to read who use the site are doing it a lot.

It doesn’t matter how many. It’s just nice to get an answer.

@mazingerz88 I’m just old enough too know a lot of shit doesn’t matter one whit. (Don’t ask me what a whit is, I don’t know, but it’s so little you can’t see it.)

It really depends entirely. If it’s an opinion type Q, I’d like to get as wide a sampling as possible.

But if it’s a factual, knowledge type of Q and one person gives the accurate answer, that’s certainly fine by me. A whole lot more would just be unnecessarily redundant.

There isn’t a magic number. I’m looking for an answer, and when the question is answered, I’m content.
However, I would by lying if I didn’t watch in awe whenever the replies climb up over 100. Those threads always kind of amaze me.

I had a Q get over a 150 responses once. That was nice.

@Lightlyseared right? It’s kind of fun, I think. Doesn’t happen every day. Exciting. Okay, well my idea of excitement may not be the same as most, but it works.
