Yes, beards are an interesting thing in the U.S. They were once extremely common and then completely fell out of favor and then sort of came back, but they are still not all that common. It’s a curious thing. How and what people think of them.
I asked this question a long time ago, about whether a man with a beard or facial hair could still get elected as President. I think, even though it really shouldn’t matter, that it would be difficult. I think people would be put off by it even though we’ve had more than a few presidents with beards and facial hair, but not for a long time.
