Do you happen to know if real logs used for siding would be cheaper or more expensive than convential siding?

Please don’t compare to aluminum siding! Compare to the plastic, forever, never-needs-painting siding most folks have today.

Are you asking about split log siding?

There are some sites where you can compare costs. Here’s a site for vinyl and here’s one for wood

Well, I’m thinking of a log cabin kind of look, so no, not split log…..

Oh Oh! I need someone to help me with the math (I’m tired and lazy at the moment. I found a website that lists the logs for $46 each. They’re 6X6X8. How many logs would I need for 1180 Sq feet inside? I realize the outside would be somewhat more. Here is the house and the plans I’m dreaming of….heading for Excel now..

How high up do I need to go? It’s 38 X 42. So far I’ve figured 160 logs to run around the house one time…$7360.
