Welcome to Fluther. We can always use more Patriots’ fans.
Both players have a tremendous work ethic and play for one of the best coaches in the NFL. In addition, Brady plays behind one of the best offensive lines in the league, too.
Since they practice so hard (and have each had to rehab from serious injuries, and worked hard at that, too) and have played for so long together, they do tend to read each other’s minds.
Don’t forget that Brady has given more receivers than Welker career years: Randy Moss set the single-season record for touchdown receptions – from Brady – and Deion Branch was a SuperBowl MVP once – with Brady throwing to him. And look what Brady is doing with his tight ends Gronkowski and Hernandez now.
Welker is definitely a prize, and there’s no doubt about that. His willingness to make catches up the middle, or sometimes just to continue to run routes, and the way he digs for every yard after the catch are a measure of his determination to excel at any cost.
