No. I have never wiped my dog’s butt, that I can recall. I’ve wiped more human butts than I can possibly count, but never a dog.

I’ve pulled a long piece of grass out of said butt that didn’t come all the way out in the poop process, but never wiped one.

I pray for the dingleberry to fall, and it usually does. No, I have never wiped my dogs butt.

Oh, that’s a different story. I have pulled hairs, strings, grass, whatever is stuck… out of pets’ bums before.

If it’s been necessary, yes of course. I take care of my animals, sometimes that includes certain amounts of hygiene when required. Is this a really odd Q or is it just late and I’m tired?

I wiped my mom’s dog’s butt when I was a teenager, because the little schmuck always got poop stuck to his hiney and I cringed at the thought of him sitting on my bed with a dirty ass. <shudder>

Can’t say that I have. And I’ve had a lot of pets in my life. They can usually handle that sort of thing themselves.

One waddles around and won’t come in the house until his butt is clean… they “cling” a lot. He’s a weird dog.

No, but my dog has a horrible habit of wiping his butt on my rug sometimes.

Sure if he has a piece stuck or had the runs and some got on his fur. He’s allowed on furniture and my bed, so he definetly is not getting on either with something stuck to his butt. Not all dogs scoot their butt on the grass or carpet. Can’t say I’m sad that my dog doesn’t do that. His fur is like velco. It picks everything up.

I don’t wipe my dog’s butt, but once I took a piece of kleenex and tried to remove a very tiny bit of poop that was hanging off her butt because it was bugging me. I was unsuccessful. She just wasn’t having any of it so I gave up.

No, but I have heard of someone doing that. Dog have been pooping for a long time without anyone wiping their butts; don’t think they need me to do it now.

No, the animal is perfectly well equipped to self clean.

Not my current dog, but my previous one was a long haired shih-tzu with a tendency to get it stuck in the hair on her behind.

My landlord’s dog is a Shitzu and he normally wipes the dog’s butt. Since the dog spends the majority of his time sitting on him while watching TV, it makes sense.

The dog is also a “scooter” so if it prevents dog poo on the rug, why not?

That’s what I like about cats. There poo is normally much drier and harder, plus they’re so fastidious about cleaning themselves.

But that is the primary reason I don’t allow her to lick my face :)

Nope, never. I’ve wiped wet paws at the door, but, have never had the need to wipe any of my dogs butts. Of course, I choose to not have a dog now, and my cat would be insulted beyond expression.

Hah! Would your cat really be insulted? I think mine would be bemused… at the thought of a dog needing that level of human intervention.
