I don’t know… Sometimes it means more just seeing what someone else offers, regardless of what it is or if you even get it. When I was a kid, I used to trick or treat in my mom’s old neighborhood, the West Park area of Cleveland, Ohio. I remember going so many times and how awesome the people were. These were people our parents (I was always with my cousins) trusted and they would let us go into the peoples’ houses that invited us to come in. The best thing I ever got was pennies. It had nothing to do with what they were, but it really touched me who they always came from – the neighborhood bums. They used to gather on Judy Court and burn a fire in a barrel to warm themselves. Not sure who they were or where exactly they were from, but it always meant a lot to me when they would give us pennies. Anyone else have any heart-warming stories for this chilly night?
