Are you personally aware of any penny stock worth risking a small amount of investment these days?

I know there’s more penny stocks out there that are not worthy of any thinking investor’s time, effort and money but sometimes there are indeed cheap stocks ( $1–8 range ) that may be worth the risk and companies and management teams that deserve the long term wait they require for the investment to grow.

Are there any jellies out there who maybe on to something and yes, I’ll do due diligence before jumping in. Just thinking it could be fun getting a tip from a jelly! Lol.

I knew of a person that dabbled in peeny stocks. He introduced himself to me by telling me he was a paronoid schizophrenic. He made more than $500,000 on one stock.

Typically, penny stocks are penny stocks for a reason… they’re bad bets. For every one of them that turns it around and makes you 100x return on your money, there are a thousand that hover near nothing for years, or just simply fail all together.

Unless you know some kind of information about the business that would lead you to believe it’s primed for a major turn around, I would avoid trying to invest via penny stocks.

@mazingerz88 I don’t think alcohol would be a good idea. When he was on his meds, he was fine, but at other times wow. He nailed a gold stock.

@Adirondackwannabe I know stock investing should never be taken lightly but it’s one of those stories, like your guy, that makes it exciting really. My cousin told me two or three years ago that gold was the smart bet. I could be wrong but I think it was only almost 800 bucks an ounce at that time. Well, he’s darn freakin right!

@tedd Thanks for the post, dude. Appreciate it. Short of masquerading as a janitor in one of the biotechs near my area, I just don’t know how else to get good info. Ha ha ha ha!

Why don’t you just play the lottery instead. Really if your counting on winning big with penny stocks the odds aren’t far off. Ok, if you insist. Find a paper like Business week with their picks of penny stocks and than spread your money over about 25 of them.
