I’ve resigned myself to being constantly monitored. The propensity of man is to be greedy (in general), so money-driven enterprises like people-watching are prominent. So, while I think legislation would be great.. with the technology that exists today.. you can be monitored.. and so you will be. Murphy’s Law.

It’s a big, big, big big brother world.

It doesn’t bother me.

It bothers me if it has time and date information. I keep the GPS function off on my phone 90% of the time, so I assume they don’t have that data from me?

It bothers me. That information should only be available to law enforcement with a warrant.

I don’t have that kind of cell phone. Nor am I likely to.

I guess I will write that down as a benefit to being a housewife stuck in the 50’s.

There is tracking that goes on in my internet browsing, I am sure. If there are going to be ads on my web pages, let them be targeted ads about the chemicals I use in my work instead of penis enlargement ads.

At least for the iPhone, the phone secretly tracks where you are by triangulating off of nearby cell towers, then saving that data with a timestamp, latitude, and longitude.

In this article, the author found you could use GPS without being tracked if your voice and data connections were not active.
