New neighbors have just moved in, next door to me. I am sure the realtor has told them that I am a retired police officer.
One afternoon, I met my new neighbors. All three are college students at Vanderbilt. All three are in their early 20s and all three appear to be good people and males. We talked for about 15 minutes and they stated that they sometimes will have a party and their music may be a little loud. I told them that was okay, that I wear hearing aids and that I was a cool person and loved music myself. Our meeting ended on a good understanding.
Last weekend, they decided to have a Halloween party. One of the guys came to tell me of their party and that I was invited. I said thank you, but I had other plans. He also stated that if their party became too loud, to knock on the door and advise them.
Needless to say, I was shocked at his words. How many people have ever knocked on your door to tell, what this college student told me?
I came in really late the next morning(3:15 am) and their party was still happening. They were having a good time and not bothering anyone, so I went to bed and to sleep.
I am fortunate to have new neighbors that think of others, before themselves.
I am blessed.
