Are the Black Friday sales so good that you would brave the crowds and the traffic to get bargains?

Do you think the Black Friday bargains are so good that you would get up early the day after Thanksgiving and brave the crowds and the traffic for the sales?

Nope – never have, never will.

I have no idea.

I don’t do my shopping until Dec 24th. Ok. Dec 12th. But it’s plenty of time to research the best online price, same as I always do. There’s no way I can get to as many stores in the real world as I can online, and usually the online sales are just as good.

Not I. I hate shopping anyway.

I went shopping at about 5 PM on Black Friday in 1995. I went with the intent of aborting the chore, if the crowds were still in their homicidal throes, but it was surprisingly uncrowded and peaceful.

But that was the only time I went and it will probably continue to be the only time because of this.

I’ve never done that believe, but I know about people who have. Personally, it depends on what the item is and how much I want it. wanted I want it badly enough, I’ll get it.

My husband loves the free stuff, and he goes from store to store in our area. He enjoys this one time bargain hunt, and we are frugal all year long, as well.

I would like to make a big purchase, but I don’t have the money anyway. I want to buy an xbox with MW3 and BF3 :/

Nope. I stay home, sleep in, watch movies and eat leftovers all day. Most of everything I buy is put on layaway well before Thanksgiving. It’s the only way we can afford Christmas.

No, I go every year… because my friends and sisters always want to go, but I think the sales really suck. The deals aren’t that good, and the lines and crowds are ridiculous. I never buy a damn thing.

I stay as far away as possible! Way too dangerous and I don’t like crowds at all, let alone moving crowds. Sounds more like a mob or a stampede.

I bought Fallout: New Vegas on Black Friday Afternoon, when the mania had subsided (and when my shift was up). Paid full price, was disappointed when it kept crashing on me.

I went last year for the first time. I might go again this year if they have a fabulous sale on items I’m planning to purchase anyway.

Ponderer983's avatar

Yup – do it every year! And honestly, the crowds and traffic during Black Friday are the same as where I shop on a Saturday during the holiday season, so why not take advantage of extra savings?

Trampling people in your haste to acquire yet another Tickle-Me-Elmo is absurd. I ask you BF Shoppers to do what you can to restrain your fellow consumer.

@Nullo LOL, a few other ladies and I were surrounded by a friendly group of big burly men last year, who protected us from a stampede. They literally surrounded us by forming a circle around 6 of us ladies and told people to back off that had begun to crush inward. They were so sweet and as payment for being bodyguards, we just handed them the items they wanted before taking ours, so they were assured of getting what they came for.

The day they have 75% off sales at the liquor store on Black Friday, is the day I tough out the crowds.

I’ve never been remotely tempted to go shopping on Black Friday. Most of our shopping is done online because it’s the easiest way to have gifts shipped to out of state relatives (like my entire side of the family). We also tend to order gifts for our kids online (toys) because we don’t live near the kind of toy store that carries just about everything.

The stores we do shop in locally don’t have insane Black Friday events.

Well, I just took an early look at the Black Friday ads for Walmart and Target. There doesn’t seem to be any spectacular deals on items that I was planning to purchase, so I think I’ll sit this Black Friday out and just take it easy. =0)
