How to reset administrator password on Mac laptop air?

The Apple store was crowded, the genius was multitasking and rushed and the password I remember writing down seems to be wrong. Plus, the warning message also asks me for a Keychain password, which I never did establish. Any help available?

(I am still very awkward with the glass touchpad.)

With a cursory glance, as I am rushing out the door, it seems to assume that you know the admin. password and want to tinker with other user accounts.

Thanks, though.

Reading further, it assumes that I have discs, which I don’t. I bought the Lion upgrade online for $29.99.

scroll to bottom of page and click on Resetting the original administrator account password (it says you need the install CD and I think Apple are providing USB sticks now so it may not work)

This is an issue with my new Mac air. No discs, no sticks, no nothing. I may bite the bullet and call India when I have three hours to spare.

This Article should walk you through the process.

The trackpads are a little weird at first, but soon you’ll have a hard time using anything else. Once you internalize the gestures, you’re going to be frustrated trying to us multi-touch gestures on your friend’s PC and not being able to. On my new iMac, I went with the Magic Trackpad instead of a mouse. Just give it a little time.

@gorillapaws: Thank you. I might rent a teenager to help.
