Patrick Stewart
Mickey Mouse
This Richard Williams Animated Oscar Winning Version,
I would love to see Alan Rickman as Scrooge, with Anthony Hopkins as Marlely’s ghost, Emma Thompson as the ghost of Christmas Past, John Goodman as the ghost of Christmas present and Alan Rickman again, as a Snape-like ghost of Christmas yet to be. Chris Colfer and Lea Michelle from Glee would be good as Bob and Mrs. Cratchit, or dare I say it, Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslett. Alan Cummings would be a great Fezziwig, and Anne Hathaway would make a great Belle along with James McAvoy as a young Scrooge.
And in my sick and twisted Nanny fantasy, Charles Shaughnessy would be Scrooge, Fran Drescher would be the ghost of Christmas/Hanukkah past (as well as Belle) and Daniel Davis (aka Niles) would be the ghost of Christmas/Hanukkah present and Lauren Lane (aka C.C. Babcock) would be the ghost of Christmas/Hanukkah yet to be, and because Lauren plays “Maxwell’s Partner” on The Nanny, she will stand in for Jacob Marley. Daniel and Lauren would also stand in and Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig. Yetta (aka , Ann Guilbert) Daniel and Lauren would be the Charwoman, Laundress and Undertaker that retrieve the items from Scrooge’s home, including the bedcurtains with the rings still attached.
Sorry to be so descriptive. I just watched 3 versions last night, including the one with Mr. Magoo! I love this story and most of the versions that I’ve seen, but Patrick Stewart wins, so far.
