@Michael_Huntington @Kardamom @ANef_is_Enuf Tim Tebow is the new(ish) quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Raised in Florida, he played for University of Florida and became the first college sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. Many feel he’s a great player, while others feel he’s a total hack. He’s always been a controversial player due to his take on religion. During his time in college, he would paint biblical passages into his eye paint (John 3:16, etc). During last year’s Superbowl, he did a Focus on the Family ad with his mother, taking an extreme pro-life stance (no rape, incest, or health of the mother exceptions). He has been known to take trips overseas to circumcise little boys. Tebow has tended to be more public with his faith than almost all other football players, including frequent genuflecting and thanking of his Lord and Savior. Some love his public displays of religion, a few even asking if he’s the reincarnation of Jesus Christ, while others object to his putting his faith before his team and the game, and accuse him of proselytizing. Recently, there was an SNL sketch in which Jesus asked Tebow to “take it down a notch”.
