I don’t know that everyone would agree with me, but Lanterman’s Mill is what springs to mind. I live about 45 seconds down the road from the childhood home of William McKinley, which is now a museum, some people might find that more significant.

Rocketdyne in Canoga Park, CA

Photo shows the F-1 Engine at the Rocketdyne plant (the building in the photo is now a Home Depot). Rocketdyne is still in Canoga Park in several buildings. Five F-1 engines lifted the Saturn V rocket to the moon, that is 5 X 1.5 million = 7.5 million pounds of thrust. Other products of Rocketdyne are the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) and the International Space Station Electric Power System (ISS EPS). I worked on the ISS EPS foer several years during the ISS assembly.

The ”London Bridge”

Lake Havasu City AZ London Bridge

Funny story about this bridge. The founder of our town went over to England thinking he purchased this one. But when it was brought over, the one above was the actual bridge he bought. Just some random bridge from London. Or so the story in this town is told. Needless to say, every year here we have hundreds of people from England that come to see it and I can not count how many times ive been asked by them “where is the London Bridge?” when it is right in front of them. Oh and this is the only bridge in town. So there is no missing it.

Well, the town has too many to name.

So I will say my immediate neighborhood’s most notable spot is a stain on a concrete wall known as Our Lady of the Underpass.

People believe it’s an image of the Virgin Mary, and I have never (literally never, ever, ever) seen it without burning candles before her. I rarely see any people, but somebody is tending to her.

It’s the same one I was thinking of @jaytkay. The illusion was a little more apparent before the alter went up. I think it was on a Penn & Teller Bullshit episode.

Yes, I lived in San Diego at the time and my ex had a friend near Havasu city. We spent a week at the lake swimming and water sking, it was very hot but lots of fun. I liked the town, I also liked Oatman where the wild burros hang around and cruise the main drag. I ended up adopting later a BLM burro that came from Nevada. :-)
