Should I be exercising?

“Great Question” (0points)

I went to the doctors two days ago and I have bronchitis. I am on medicine for only 5 days. I am a part of a track team and I have not ran in maybe 5 days. Before I went to the doctors I was sick for a week with sore throat, wet/dry cough and stuffy nose. I have been on the meds for 3 days now and I am not getting any better. Yeah the wet cough is gone but my throat is still killing me! I need to run though. I have a meet coming up Thurs and I have not done a hard work out in a while. Help!?!??! At 3 today I have a hard work out planned for outside at our track. It is also 30 degrees out today so I am not sure if that would be a great idea. Should I do the work out at my own pace? Or not at all? : (

Is there an indoor treadmill you can work on? Did they test you for strep throat? How is your energy level?

We have an indoor gym with the treadmill and bikes. He said I didn’t have a fever so it probably is not strep. I’m very tired all the time but I didn’t have a fever so he said it wasn’t mono either

If I were you I would work myself up back to normal shape. Do very light exercise and see how you feel. If you feel good keep working till your back to normal.

I wouldn’t over stress your body with that kind of workout in that kind of weather.
This is a matter of acceptance of what is, and what is, IS, you are very SICK!
I’d opt out completely and rest and wait until you are fully recovered.
Depending on the medication you are on, I am assuming an antibiotic, you need to know that hardcore antibiotics weaken your entire system and lead to fatigue.

You mentioned a 5 day treatment, was this the Z Pac?
If so, it will continue to be working in your system for an additional 5 days beyond the 5 day dosage.
I strongly suggest you take care of yourself until you are fully recovered.

I would work out lightly on the indoor track with a goal of getting back into shape in a week or two.

Get healthy first! Maybe some light long distance walking is ok.
