I’m where @King_Pariah is on this. I’m not sure I can qualify him as one or the other for the whole series. I know how it ends even though I haven’t seen all of the episodes. (I looked! I couldn’t stop myself!) You just have to watch it and decide for yourself.

He begins as a well-intentioned anti-hero, but tiptoes the divider between hero/villain until he topples onto one side. This doesn’t mean that L is purely a hero, either. He makes his own set of shady decisions when in charge of the task force.

Misa may be the first ani-babe that could actually threaten my affection for Trixie.

Well, you should be up to at least half the series by now since it’s been about five months. I’d say he is a villain. If you see the entire series then you’ll know exactly why and maybe have a long discussion about it…
