Remember the old Allan Sherman song?
Hello Mullah, Hello fadda
Here I am, at Camp Granada?
(you have to be at least 50 years old to remember it)
Anyway – yes, it seems to be a low volume, subtle, but fairly successful operation. No one knows who is doing it, but of course the US, Israel, Great Britain are the usual suspects.
Anyone the Iranians lose is a potential delay, but I don’t think there’s a direct cause and effect (two guys equals 4 weeks). But one would have to assume that the continued attrition of nuclear workers has to have some effect somehow, and probably in some way accumulates.
The bigger question – if I were an Iranian citizen I would be wondering this – how are these bombs being placed? Is the Iran Intelligence service so lousy that spies are running all over the place killing nuclear scientists?
Or – and this is what would worry the government – are Iranians killing Iranians? And if that’s the case, what does that say for the longevity of the Mullahs and their government?
I don’t see how the West loses no matter who the assassins are.
