“Great Question” (1points)

The 15th Century Medici House produced 4 Popes. I think that’s fascinating. So does the current Pope have any familial connection to the Medici family?

He has familial ties to Emperor Palpatine. He acts like him, too.

I doubt it, the current Pope is German. It’s been a few generations since there was last an Italian Pope.

I have no idea, but the current Pope was involved with the Nazis during WWII.

@Dutchess_III , at least a member of the Hitler Youth groups. However, many of the Catholic priests were a great deal more involved with Hitler than they want anyone to know – after all, they had a great deal in common with Hitler & his minions, they both wanted to reduce the presence of the Jews in Europe. One of my former father-in-laws told me several tales about the man who is now the Pope. My former father-in-law flew a spy plane for Hitler thru out WWII.

Most likely not.

I dislike the current Pope and disagree with almost everything he says.

But there seems to be some misconception about boys having been part of the Hitler Youth groups. About 98% were, because it was mandatory. Almost all of the 2% ones missing had some officially diagnosed medical problem. There were cases of parents objecting, but in early 1939 laws were changed and the boys had to go even against the wishes of their parents.

So please be careful about any speculations whether memberships of those boys can be linked to supporting Nazi ideas after the war.
