@bkcunningham That would feel tropical about now. @janbb There’s some advantage to those toxic waste dumps. The chemical reactions provide some heat. @gailcalled You get the worse of both worlds. The cold plus the nor’easters run right up your way
@Symbeline That’s excellent. I stumbled onto an amazing art gallery today. One of the paintings was tiltled NIMBY. A guy sleeping on a couch with 5 elephants in his living room behind him. Struck me funny.
@mangeons I’m in a cold area. I’m in the hills and it just happens. I have some excellent outdoor gear. It is really warm. When I was growing up we worked outside in lousy gear and we just sucked it up.
I was in Lake Placid for the first time this summer. It is beautiful there. We stayed at Mirror Lake and I got to tour around places I’d never been before. I love warm weather, but I’ll tell you, that area is majestic.
It’s 22 below celsius here in Alberta. We’ve been hovering around 0 and even up to 10 above last week so it’s a shock! I wish I knew how to convert- it’s shameful- I grew up with fahrenheit.
Not sure but it’s probably around 20. It’s really cold but it is supposed to warm up by week’s end. Next Saturday is supposed to be about 51, which is incredible for mid-January. We’ve been lucky so far – we had the snow right before Halloween, and otherwise, it’s been a great winter, so we can’t complain!
It was 70 degrees yesterday so we went camping. Woke up this morning to frozen water. Didn’t sleep that well. Did you know that a tempurpedic pillow gets as hard as a brick when it’s cold? Even firmer than it already is!
Came home and it got back upto 65 today.
It was the coldest day of the year, I think. Still, not all that cold. I don’t think it got below 20F. Except for the halloween storm, which disappeared the moment it hit the ground, we haven’t had any snow yet, this year.
