Ladies: When approaching a group of women that you know, how do you greet the group?
Often, during the course of my day, I may pass a group of women that I know (if they’re outside smoking, or standing around at work chatting). I am often conflicted as to how to greet the group.
“Hi Ladies” sounds kind of grandiose (if they’re my casual work buddies)
“Hi Girls” seems condescending (these are grown women, after all.
“Hi Guys” seems good but I have heard women say to each other when addressed that way “we’re not guys.”
To say “good morning” or “hello” to the group seems kind of formal.
Suggestions?
