Employees, if they are able to will always steal from the business owner.

1. Make sure you come up in Google locals when you search for “Nail salon [Your city]”
2. Makes sure you have real customers file real (favorable) reviews on Yelp
3. Make sure you have all the business information filled in on Yelp, including the website.
4. If you don’t have a website, take a video of yourself welcoming people and telling what the services are and put that on youTube. Then create a link on a new website to the video.
5. Create a Facebook fan page. Get freinds and customers to favorite it.

@ArabianKnightress It’s crazy what all is involved. Get a good accountant and good luck. One other little lesson I learned from a banker. He said know what you need to charge to make a profit. You can be the best mechanic (his example) in the world, but if you don’t make money you’ll be out of business eventually.

Call Tabatha! . Or at least watch a few episodes. I know you won’t be doing hair, but her common sense, no BS approach might offer you some insight that is important. Going from being client to boss is a difficult transition. You are going to see a whole new side to these people that you adore. Don’t forget that you’re the boss, and people do what you INSPECT, more than what you expect. Set standards and follow up regularly to make sure that they are being met. Especially when it comes to the sanitizing and cleanliness.
