I think I may have gone once when I was younger, but I don’t remember very well.

A new theme park won’t attract me to Nashville, though. I like Nashville anyway and have a bunch of friends out there.

Someone told me a long time ago that Nashville is beautiful and it’s got a lot of fun things to do. I have never been there. I’m not into country music. One day, I guess I’ll head down. There are other amusement parks that are closer, like Busch Gardens.

I remember the Opryland, right by the Christmas Festival.
I remember the Grand Ole Opry as well.

But I dont travel much anymore. If naming after Dolly, wont they have a coaster named the Twin Peaks?

Do they still have the steamboat that runs down there?

I went to the Grand Ole Opry when I was about 6 or 7 years old with my grandpa, who lived just outside of Nashville. I remember it vividly. I also drove past Dollywood quite often, but never went.

If the Grand Ole Opry was back up and running and I was back in the South, yes, I’d take my kids.

Yes, I took my kids to Opryland once. My strongest memory is a roller coaster than I felt didn’t have enough harness to keep my younger safe. I help my arm across her during the entire ride.

Do you know why it was closed?

I thought it was a pretty successful place with the that grand hotel and all and there were several different TV programs broadcast from there. (I thought they still were :)

Did Branson, Missouri steal some of their thunder with the vast variety of entertainers opening theatres down there?

I would love to get down there one day. And Dollywood has consistently had a really good reputation as a fun place.

Dolly is a really smart businesswoman (she only plays at being a ditzy blonde. Don’t believe it for a minute. She is one smart cookie as well as a genuinely warm person)

If she’s in charge, I can well imagine it being a huge success. She really knows what will entertain people. Her wigs and makeup are the only fake things about her. Underneath she’s a genuine caring and endearing person. Very very real and sincere.

I went to Opryland many years ago, and was shocked to find out it was demolished and turned into a mall when I first moved to Memphis. I will definitely go to the theme park when it opens if I am still living in TN.
