What do you think of this idea for a community restaurant?

“Great Question” (4points)

I just heard about this community restaurant opened a few months ago by the performer Jon Bon Jovi. I am not sure what to make of it. A meal for $10 is a little less than the going rate. I am wondering what types of customers the restaurant attracts. How many really needy people do you think would show up and work to pay for their meal? Are we to assume that money from the restaurant will be used for charitable purposes? Let me know your thoughts on this or if you have additional information.

Yes, the restaurant is non=profit.

I think it’s a great idea. $10 covers the cost of your own meal. You can donate more to defray the cost of others’ meals.

I think this type of restaurant is a wonderful idea. It reminds me of It Could Hapen To You

There are a few places like this scattered around the country. I’d certainly patronize one, if it were near me.

I will probably eat there sometime soon as it is practically in my backyard. I have heard very good things about it and about the way it is run. Usually, those who can afford to pay more than the $10.

I like it. I would eat there assuming the food is good. I would happily pay a little extra for my meal, especially if the meal would typically cost more at a different restaurant. Dinner usually costs between $15—$20 when I eat out, so why not throw in some extra to help someone else? I love that people who might have a hard time finding work can work for their meal, and feel useful and part of the community. Also many people do not like to acceot charity, and this gives them the opportunity to contribute, very nice concept.

If I like the food and could actually get to one, I might try it.

I think it’s a great concept. More rich performers should buy into it and give back to their communities. The menu looks excellent too. Now I’m really hungry.

I like the communal aspect of the restaurant. In soup kitchens, there is a clear distinction between those who serve the food and those who receive it. In the restaurant, everyone has a chance to both eat in the restaurant and serve in it. This allows for the possibility of people mingling who might not ordinarily meet one another. It puts rich and poor on a more egalitarian basis.
