General Question

When simmering a pot roast do you always keep the cover on? The recipe that I'm using did not specify.

My grandmother always leaves the cover on except for the occasional peak to check on the roast. Good Luck!

Yes….to keep in as much moisture as possible.

pot roast usually cooks a long time. if you leave the lid off all the juices are going to fly away leaving you with a boot. and if yo got carrots and taters and stuff in there they need that juice. tater jerky blows.

yes the lid increases pressure which helps to tenderize it and also keeps it moist
