I can’t find my book on the topic, does anyone have a list of stages or an Internet reference to point to? The book I’m trying to review is from 15 years ago, has anyone come across something more recent?

Daphne, I’m not sure what book your referring to. The stages of team development include Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, and Adjourning. Dr Bruce Tuckman published this model in 1965. Is this the information you’re looking for?

Hey, thanks yes that’s it. I didn’t realize the model dated from that early.

Yes, it’s been around for quite a while. I remember reading that the first four stages were published in 1965 and then the last stage in 1970, but it’s still widely accepted today.

Hmmm.

I’m sorry that I have no idea about the stages of “team building”, but (as a builder) I do know the Six Stages of a Project:

1. Enthusiasm
2. Disillusionment
3. Panic
4. Search for the guilty
5. Punishment of the innocent
6. Praise and honors for non-participants

I hope that helps you in your career as much as it has helped me to get through my own, at least to this point. Who knows? Tomorrow could be worse.
