Why can I not click on the volume icon in some Youtube videos?

I think it’s something the owner of the video somehow enabled on their account to be able to completely disable the volume control? No matter how much I click on the volume icon on the video, it doesn’t do anything.

However, when I go to a different Youtube video, I don’t have the problem with the volume. Why is this?

I haven’t encountered that.

Do you have a link to the video?

I think it’s due to copyright issues because of a song they have in their video. But not sure how they can disable the volume on the video. No, I don’t have a link, sorry.

Now that you mention it, I think I saw the frame for that video too. I think the song was only played in part of the video, so they still had permission to run the video without the audio.

I know there’s a web program that can strip the audio from a video so that the user can download the audio, so it could be that You Tube has also implemented some articulated playback controls of their own.
