Welcome to Fluther. I hope we can help you a bit.
May I suggest that you’re asking the wrong question. Hear me out. When you ask questions such as “Why are things so awful?” or “What is wrong with the world?” you’ll get answers to those questions. You’ll get a list of problems and awful things in the world… and no solutions. Those are “disabling questions”. They focus your mind onto problems, lies, deceit, crime, corruptions… all kinds of nasty things.
Your mind is an amazing thing. It will work at what you direct it toward. So instead of the question you’re asking, try asking “enabling questions” instead:
How can I improve my life?
How can I feel better in the morning?
What can I do that will make me better?
You may not find solutions; your mind can only work as well as you let it, in the first place, and there is no magic. You can’t just wave a wand and make everything better. But you can look in the direction of solutions instead of problems, and if there are better alternatives for you than your current situation – which is a near certainty, even if it’s not possible for you to reach them right now – then at least your mind will be focused in that direction and helping you achieve those ends.
All by itself that should help to improve your outlook, at least, even if it doesn’t change your life immediately.
I’ll tell you honestly, I first heard this advice over twenty years ago, and it did improve my life, directly and immediately, and ever since.
The advice above is good, too. I hope some of it helps. Good luck to you.
