“Great Question” (1points)

The younger demographics seem to favor basketball over baseball.
NBA Finals rating at a higher level then mlb world series finals in recent seasons.
More famous stars.
More global then mlb.

Not there yet.

“Major League Baseball games set ratings records in both Detroit and Cincinnati during the first week of the season. Meanwhile, NBA ratings and viewership remain slightly above last year on ESPN.” Sports Media Watch April 15, 2012

I fucking hate baseball, I would rather mow the lawn than watch it. I hate basketball too. But the last quarter can be awesome if the game is close.

This is where I derail the question and make it political.

Without rap/hip-hop and basketball the nation would be more racist. Now we look up to people that our parents wouldn’t let drink from the same fountain as them.

@johnpowell – I agree the last quarter of basketball is the best, but I think the same is true of all team sports. I love the last quarter!

With baseball, the world series is the only time I watch and then usually only if the Yankees are in it.
