For something cut away, Tylenol is actually very good. Tylenol stops the pain transmission. NSAIDS like ibuprofen and naproxen, most commonly sold as Advil and Alleve respectively, are antinflammatories, which is usually unnecessary after a clean cut done by a doctor. Ask the doctor how much you can take, the perscription amount of aceitomenophen. For instance I know doctors often prescribe 600–800mg of ibuprofen for severe muscle pain, while the OTC label only allows for 400mg in their prescribing information. Which by the way for a headache or cramps the NSAID’s are much better because they not only treat the pain they treat the underlying cause.
Remember, don’t drink alcohol while taking Tylenol.
