Are you lucky enough to have a drive-in movie theater in your town? That can be really fun and you can get all smoochie without causing a scene.
Is there anywhere you can have a nice romantic picnic in a park or near a lake or at the beach? Pack her favorite sandwiches, some fruit, some fancy chips and of course her favorite soda pop! And then have a special treat for dessert. If you’re not a good chef, you can always get these things at some place like Whole Foods, or even some restaurants can pack you a picnic lunch.
Take a ride on the train to the next town and have a romantic lunch. Look online to see if there is a fancy candy store there.
Or do something fun, but unexpected like take her ice skating or take a drive to the mountains or go the the zoo. Then present her with a piece of jewelry (that is pretty, but that you can afford). If she likes jewelry (I’m not big on it myself, but if it was a heart shaped locket with both of your photos inside that would be very nice).
Does she like to camp? Do you have any local campgrounds in which you could stay for the weekend (rather than going far away to Yosemite or some other long distance/expensive destination). In my town, we have campgrounds by most of our local lakes and at the beach and in our mountains that are within an hour’s drive.
Take her to the swankiest restaurant in town, but just for dessert and coffee (you don’t have to break the bank).
Whatever you do, just be sweet and romantic (maybe present her with a poem that you’ve written) so she’ll have a nice memory. You don’t have to spend lots of money. You could take a sheet of pretty paper, put on some lipstick and “kiss” the paper, then put it in an envelope and give it to her. Tell her that when you are not together (like when you are at work or on a business trip or at school, wherever you might be) that she can always kiss your lips and know that she is loved : )
Happy Anniversary and welcome to Fluther!
