Here in some parts of Utah and all of my home state of Colorado fireworks are banned. If you live in these areas, how was your firework-less celebrations?

We had a nice dinner and enjoyed some legal fireworks that were going on. Much to my surprise my parents were very social, having many people over for snacks and conversation.
