Have you been to the Globe Theater? (Shakespeare’s theater) – that’s pretty cool.

Go to the British Library, sit outside on one of the benches and sip a beverage – watch the weird world go by.

Have you been to/through Kensington palace? That’s an interesting tour.

Take the train up to Oxford and see the very historical University campus.

There are so many things to do in and around London – it’s really dependent on your likes and dislikes.

Consider going to the Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park. Set up by Buddhist monks in 1958.

Think about eating a meal at the Cheshire Cheese, there since 1667.

Visit Portobello Road market in Notting Hill.

Or Spitalofields City Farm for a touch of the rural in London.

Two of my favorites:
* Visiting the British Library and seeing a copy of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. A copy of the Magna Carta is there as well.
* Heading over to Abbey Road and walking over the zebra crossing that The Beatles used.

Ride the tube, go to a pub for dinner or lunch. Try the Notting Hill Gate go to Churchill Pub than take a walk through the Kensington Gardens.

If you’re visiting after the 27th of July then you probably won’t have time to do anything as the place will be gridlocked.

You could go to Camden Lock market (but its more fun if its a weekend)
There’s a cable car that goes across the Thames at Greenwich peninsula that pretty new so that might be fun (it’s on my todo list any how).

I’d go and see a show!

What about a Jack the Ripper tour?

I recommend the Sir John Soanes Museum in the City. He was an 18th century architect and his house is an idiosyncratic little gem.

@Lightlyseared I’m going mid-week, the week before the Olympics starts so it will still be busy but hopefully not gridlocked. The cablecar does sound fun though.

@marinelife The Peace Pagoda sounds good. I’m very interested in Buddhism. Notting Hill market too. I often go to Camden but I’ve never been to Notting Hill.

Go see the Shard, visit the gherkin and Canary Wharf. Also visit the ITV studios.

Ooh the shard is a good one. I think I’ll pass on the ITV studios though – telly doesn’t interest me one little bit. I’m tempted to try a show on the Thursday evening too. My daughter insists that I go and see Wicked.

I’d love to go see Wicked. The book was incredible, but I hear the play is fairly different. Is that your cup of tea though? There’s no sense in spending money on a ticket if it isn’t.

I would like like to see a taping of QI. Steven Fry and Alan Davies are hysterical.

I think as far as shows go, Wicked appeals to me more than most. I’ve seen Avenue Q and that was just brilliant. Other than that though, I’m not generally a fan of musicals.
