Does the third Hunger Games book need to be two parts?

Warner Bros. has announced that “Mockingjay: the Hunger Games 3” will be shot in two parts, just like the final Twilight and Harry Potter books.
Of course the Harry Potter book was huge and impossible to shorten. Mockingjay does not seem to be longer or more involved than the first Hunger Games book, so why 2 films?
Is this just to make more money?
Do you see difficulties with this story that require 2 films?

No, Mockingjay could easily be done in one movie. In fact, I don’t see how they are going to stretch it into two.

No, probably not. This seems to be the new thing to do, though. And Hollywood tends to follow the leader.

I think it must be a cash grab. They could do that book in one movie.

It’s turning into a stupid trend. I was thrilled that Deathly Hallows was made into two movies because I’ve always been frustrated with how much they chop out for the movie. Deathly Hallows isn’t even the longest Harry Potter book. But fucking Breaking Dawn? No. No, that did not need to be two movies, at all. Nothing friggin’ happens in that book, and the first movie was maybe 30 minutes of plot stretched out into two hours. Mockingjay I’m not quite as appalled about, but I find it annoying because it just seems to be following the trend, probably for the sake of money.

I’m sure the studio was thrilled by how much money the first Hunger Games movie made, so I’m not surprised at all that they’re splitting up the rest of the series into more money-making opportunities. Hollywood is indeed one greedy bitch!

I agree they are doing for the money. For that reason alone, I personally will not see it in the theater.
I’ll wait until it comes Netflix or Redbox.

I think we’re going to start seeing more and more of this, now that Harry Potter and Twilight made so much money with it.

One film is all it needs remember they gave also done this with The Hobbitt as well, ghastly movie where nothing happens.
