“Great Question” (2points)

When you sing along to the radio, what songs do you feel you sing your best (delusional, of course) when nobody else can hear? When you can really belt them out, and radio’s on so loud you can’t even hear yourself?

For me, it’s anything by Journey or Motown (Jackson 5, for example).

I do sing best when I belt them out, but that’s not when I’m singing along with the radio in the car.

I don’t sing along to the radio or even when listening to my own music collection. Ever.

1. I’ll Pick a Rose for My Rose by Marv Johnson
2. Part of your World from The Little Mermaid
3. I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston (I know Dolly sang it originally but I’ve never heard her version, and well, okay, I don’t sound good but at least I hit the notes without struggling, even if they sound bad!)
4. Whenever, Wherever by Shakira.

Wow I have a wide musical taste.

Although, I must admit a cannot hit that high note: ”.........For Meeeeeeeeeeeeee!” But I do a pretty mean air guitar following it. My passengers do NOT enjoy that part.

Before I started transitioning I had a good mezzo-soprano to contralto singing voice. Some of my favourites to sing along to were Everything But The Girl, Carole King, Alanis Morisette and Annie Lennox.

A year on testosterone and I’m now pretty much a baritone, with about half the vocal range I used to have. This morning I was singing along to Dire Straits.
