Well, that’s why I purposely put a question mark at the end of my off the cuff guess.
And as long as things are being excessively parsed, I’ll try, in retrospect, to flesh out my thought process.
In trying to figure out what the OP was trying to get at (since THAT’S really not that abundantly clear to begin with,) I was reacting to certain key words.
Especially, “actually outlive the rich”. Technically the words “fittest” and “rich” are not really synonymous either. There are plenty of rich people woefully out of shape.
And the “commoners” are not necessarily “unfit” since they normally engage in physical labor making them in far better shape than many rich.
I took the entire context of his Q as contrasting the aggresseive ones in power ie: “the fittest” and “the rich” as not necessarily out-surviving those who are less so and not in positions of power, ie: “commoners”.
The very words chosen by the OP to describe what they’re trying to get across are not congruent with their respective positions on either side of the power divide, so I interpreted their intent. I took it as being more focused upon power rather than strictly physical attributes.
And in our current society, it’s the rich (and aggressive) who wield the most power since there aren’t a plethora of meek (or humble) people who are rich and powerful. In an age where filthy rich corporations are granted the status of personhood, it’s pretty clear where the power lies and it’s not on the bottom humblerungs of the economic ladder.
Anyhow, I could be way off base for all i know and neither of us will know until the OP chooses to comment further :)
