To all the knitter’s and I am a knitter alone.

I recently moved into a daylight basement. I chose a gauze fabric x4 to let light in in these winter days and for claustrophobia. Works great in daylight but at night time people can see through. So i was thinking about pairing the gauze with a knit but am stumped as to pattern and yarn type. I want to let light in but obscure the interior. I also don’t want it to be heavy as the rods aren’t terribly strong. Any ideas? Side note not a crochet please.
