you mean portrait or landscape? I use mine both ways equally. I use the landscape for the online typing kinds stuff and portrait for offline stuff. I suggest you ask this question as soon as Apple makes landscape mode universal to all areas of iPhone use. You’ll get more (for lack of a better term) responses, from people.
I use it landscape (horizontally) whenever possible since the type is larger therefore easier to read i.e. when online.
I so wish we had the option of using it landscape when email, text messaging. Even after almost a year, I still find it a challenge to type on the tiny keyboard displayed during portrait (vertical) use.
@mcbealer: yeah, I agree. The characters are larger and easier to type on even though I have adjusted and adapted quite well to the potrait keyboard. The landscape mode is just much more comfortable when it comes to typing. Sidekick manufacturers were pretty smart….
@ dingus108 ~ yes, I went from a Sidekick II to an iPhone, and the first month was pretty rough having no buttons to push down and a much smaller keyboard to boot.
To this day, I don’t what I’d do without the intelligent keyboard feature! It really does predict words.
I use mine in portrait for everything except watching videos on youtube or bbc iplayer :) Oh, and for playing with the coverflow swishy thing in the iPod section!
Mcbealer – go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ and navigate to whatever program you want to watch, zoom in a bit so you can see the play button when it appears (sometimes slow to appear), and off you go!
They’ve written a special iPhone player, so when you click the little blue play arrow that appears, it automatically spins the display and sets it to fullscreen on the phone.
