Do you have the video of a kid in a stroller red snowsuit, white hat singing opera?

It is supposed to be on Live Leak, but I can’t find it. I’m trying to find out the name of the song. The man he is accompanying is a street performer. Just a few days old I think.

How sweet!

I almost recognize it. I’m not sure it’s operatic. There’s a lot of classical and sacred vocal music that isn’t opera. It might be an “Ave Maria.”

@filmfann I was expecting an animated child with close-up of the face, and I was expecting to see a woman as the street performer.

@Jeruba let me know if it comes to you.
I just blindly followed what I heard when it comes to the word “opera”. It doesn’t sound like opera to me either, but I don’t know if it could be found without the word “opera” in Google.

The kid needs practice. The piano player is brilliant! ~

@bkcunningham The video doesn’t match the audio, true.

It was an attempt, failed; but an attempt nonetheless, at humor, @flo. I loved the video. It is really amazing. I have tried and tried to find the name of the song. I did wonder about the man at the very beginning who is near the child’s stroller. Most people on different sites I found talking about the video think he is the child’s father and he puts the stroller near the street performer on purpose to catch the child’s reaction on video. No song title yet.

I did find it funny.

The YouTube post:

Anther clip of the same child and performer:

Clearly, she’s heard the song thousands of times, because she sings along with the organ parts, and jumps in ahead of time. Very cute.

bkcunningham's avatar

Isn’t that strange? Are the children in the clips posted by @hearkat and @flo the same child?

flo's avatar

I saw it in full screen mode. Okay I see I might have been wrong about the not matching part except fot the adult singing, it still sounds like a woman to me.
The child grew up quite a bit, I guess.

They look like the same kid to me, and her voice sounds the same. I think the guy lip-syncs, and the kid is the gimmick.

flo's avatar

@bkcunningham I think the kid grew up since the winter, by how much is the question, he/she looks a lot older.
@hearkat I think so too about the lip-syching man.

I heard a different description of the video, one with a woman taking the kid in the stroller to where it is, and then preparing to video it. So there there maybe a few more versions.

@flo The song is Panis Angelicus (Bread of Angels) by Cesar Franck. It is often sung at Christmas time. Here is a video of the song as sung by Pavarotti.

I think you’re right, @2davidc8. And I’ll give myself a point for saying it might be sacred music and not opera.

But I’ll take off a point because I have that Pavarotti recording and have played it a great many times over some 20 years or so, especially at Christmas. I’d have known the piece right off if the clip had included the beginning of the melodic line.

So do you think there’s a tape player or DVD player in the traveling bag parked next to the stroller, and the kid is just mouthing along?

2davidc8's avatar

You’re right, @Jeruba. The difficulty in identifying the piece is that there is only the last 25 seconds or so. If it had started at the beginning, it would have been much easier.

As to the video, I think it was doctored. But if not, wow, we may be listening to the next Caruso or Callas in 20 years!

Well done!

@2davidc8 Thank you so much.

I like the version by the lady and the kid though.
