Come on now, you are Canadian, maple syrup of course. You can add a pat of butter if you don’t mind the fat.

Another idea cinnamon sugar. Oh, you said no sugars at all? Just save this idea for a later date.

Is this a list of things you could add? I’ve at one point or another added honey, nuts, molasses, fruit, some people like milk any berries, cinnamon. I’ve actually seen people do salt.

Fry them first on medium heat with a little butter. It brings out the sugars in the grain. Add the liquid and cook with the bananas at the end on cooking.
I think it was 1 cup of oats to 4 cups of water.

Love berries but that pineapple sounds pretty good.

Found something. Going to give it a try.

I’m doing my best to cut out refined sugar.

After you go to the store, cranberry. Have you tried agave as a sweetener?

Here’s my work breakfast:

Oats, vanilla almond milk, bananas, cinnamon. Usually add a little raw sugar as well. If you have apples, add those instead of sugar. They’re sweet enough on their own.

@marinelife I’m home sick. I won’t be going anywhere. Just wanted to make do with what I have kicking around.

It may be my idiosyncrasy, but I like oatmeal with bananas and dried apricots, after the apricots have been soaked in water in the refrigerator. The sweetness of the banana goes well with the tartness of the apricots.

In the future, pick up some shredded coconut at the store and throw that in next time you make it. Sooooo delicious! Kinda melts in, so you just get the taste and it’s amazing. I also like cinammon, butter, maple syrup, flax seeds, chia seeds, bananas, berries, mmm I’m hungry.

I use only various fruits and nuts on my oatmeal, but I make it with milk rather than water.

Nuts and dried fruit of any kind (I like orange cranberries).
