His campaign advisors, and such came from multiple firms many running their own firms. From the inside though they say it was more collective decision making of the brightest minds together. For example My.BarackObama.Com was created by one of the founders of Facebook. David Axelrod was his chief strategist but also had image advice and political advice at times. David Plouffe was the campaign manager, but his firm also deals in similar fields. The campaign had their own art department. I say they all overlapped. The logo itself was contracted out early on to a firm who hired an artist, which story is at the link above probably.
