I’m pretty against doing either, but give me enough drugs or alcohol and I’ll be dancing in no time :P

I feel pretty comfortable singing, and I like my voice now. I can’t read music sadly, but I am good at singing by ear.

But to dance, I have to be sufficiently inebriated to really lose my self-consciousness, so I can’t just cut loose at the drop of a hat.

Which would you choose, @ucme?

Dance better than I sing.

Both, since I’ve done musical theater my entire life, but I prefer to sing.

Dancing. Definitely.

I’m not like “Holy crap she’s a great dancer”, but I love dancing so friggin’ much.

I have my own, self-invented, dance, which I only perform for my girlfriend.
She thinks it rocks (and I agree :-) ).
She likes my (one particular kind of) singing voice; I am not so sure myself.
The Djumba I feel very shy to dance for others than her.
Singing I do all day, without noticing it, without effort, so since I am no shy about that, I would opt for singing.
(Apparently there is this guy, Bawee, Bowee…., anyway, David something, whose voice (my girlfriend tells me) resembles mine!)

Yeah, me dancing is not a pretty sight, rather like a scarecrow with piles.
I’d choose singing, not that i’m any great vocal talent, but it beats dancing that’s for sure.

I have actually been asked not to sing, but to just mouth the words, when I was a young girl in a church choir.

I used to be a good Square Dancer and line dancer, but not good at any other kind of dancing.

Sing better than I dance.

Dancing definitely. I love dancing. I can’t learn steps for shit though. When I took jazz dance I was always 2 steps behind everyone else in the class. A little embarrassing! I prefer freeform dancing. As for singing I’m really shy about singing alone. I have to really feel comfortable with someone in order to sing in front of them. I don’t mind singing in a group though.

I sing whether I mean to or not, it’s just stream of consciousness. I can only dance if I’m drunk but then I’m good. Are we having a party soon?

Me moving is just awkward. I feel like I even walk kind of awkwardly. I don’t know.

Not that my singing is good, but it’s the lesser of the two evils. I’m trying to work up the courage to do a piano/vocal number at an upcoming open mic, actually. We’ll see.

I would do both. I dance and sing regularly. I’m not as nimble as I once was, but when the spirit rises in me, I do things I can’t normally do. In any case, I love them both and feel confident about both of them, and would be happy to do them both, at the same time, improvising, in front of an audience. I’d also play my trumpet and tell a story, as part of the performance, if you like. And if you give me a partner, or several partners, we could do a whole bunch of interesting things.

Why do you ask?

Sing. I can do a mean Blue Skies.

Definitely dancing. It’s the fastest, funnest, cheapest, and easiest way to get laid. It has worked for me as both a single and married guy.

I’d much rather dance. I can tap dance. I don’t practice it anymore, haven’t for like, centuries. But I still got enough of it down. Or I can just swing my hair everywhere while humping a battle axe, either way. But singing, no way. I would sound like a battalion of crows dying after drinking paint.

Sing, most definitely. I can rock a seat dance in the car, but up on my feet? Not a chance, man.

I love dancing but if it were something I was doing on a stage in front of people, I’d sing, Hall and Oates of course.

I sing, sing, sing and dance, dance, so I’d be more comfortable singing.

I like to dance and I am quite good at it. Sing, hell no, you’d cry.

I can sing well so, even though I hate doing so in front of an audience, I would choose that option. I am not a good or confident dancer.

So @Leanne1986, do you sound more like Cher or Barbara Streisand…if you tell me neither I flat out don’t believe you, so there :p
