I’m looking for a recipe for the cookies where you boil cocoa, peanut butter, sugar and butter (?), then stir in oatmeal and drop with a spoon.

The last time I tried them they were dry and a waste of ingredients. I’m looking for someone’s tried and true recipe. The moister, the better!

Chocolate Oatmeal No Bake Cookies
½ C Butter
2 C Sugar
½ C Milk
4 Tbsp Cocoa
½ C Peanut Butter
3— 3½ C Quick cooking Oats
2 tsp. Vanilla
Add the first 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a rolling boil, and boil for 1 minute. Stir in the next 3 ingredients and drop onto wax/foil paper. Let cool until set.

@bkcunningham any ideas on how to make them moister? Keep them moist? Real butter, oleo or a mix?

I only use real butter. Cut back on the oats and see if that helps keep them moister, @ibstubro. We’ve been dieting and I haven’t made these in a few months. Think of me when you eat them. (I am down almost ten pounds though!)

Good for you, @bkcunningham !
I don’t normally have anything but butter in the house, but sometimes ½ and ½ with oleo works better. I can buy these at Walmart for under $3.50 a box, and I’m wondering if it’s worth the trouble to make them. lol
