Can you give me some info regarding a famous military photograph?

“Great Question” (1points)

I once saw a black and white photo of several pilots or soldiers saluting either a U.S. president or a U.K. prince or prime minister. One of the pilots was severely burned. There was a caption describing the exchange between the two. It went something like “Get better soldier” and the soldier replied “I will sir” If anyone can provide a link to the photo or some background info that would be greatly appreciated.

Is this it?
After some random Googling I found it on this tumblr. Scroll down a bit and you’ll soon find it the image and the caption. :)

That is certainly the scene. I think I saw a photo taken from a different angle and it was edited to look more grainy
thanks

Allow me to assist you on that one.

I immediately recognised Prince Charles (hey, I’m British, it’s what I do). – If you remember “big ears”, which is what most caricatures are likely to have on them if he’s involved, then you’ll have no trouble remembering who it is.

I also suspected that the guy with the burns was a guy I couldn’t remember the name of initially, but knew that I’d seen him a few times on TV regarding the Falklands War.
That man’s name is Simon Weston….if you check

And scroll down a bit beyond the first few sections, you’ll notice the reference you made in your OP about the getting well. I think you’ll get the rest of the information you might be looking for from there.
