Well, @uberbatman You are signing over your life and body. If that isn’t clear at recruiting, it damn well becomes apparent through boot camp.
This is why, though I never served, I have no problem endorsing medical/psychiatric/education support for all who make it through their military contract.
@uberbatman I don’t mean to come out or lash at you. My tone is calm. Whether you believe you belong or don’t belong to the U.S. is up to you, but come on, don’t belittle our troops by merely calling them property. They’re still humans. Not everyone can be “property” of their parents heirloom and trust funds. For some, the military is the only way out of their little town.
@pleiades My slight isn’t against the troops, I have quite a few friends and family that serve it’s just the idea of signing myself over to any organization that bothers me. My cousin is a marine and constantly refers to himself as property of the US military. I just don’t like the idea of being property to someone or some orginization. Ya know freedom and all that good stuff…
