@janbb That won’t exactly work either, things that are repellent to us. Because it would be completely repellent to me, to even think about having sex with some of the people that I work with, some of my neighbors and most random people I see on the street, but I think that most of those people can and do have normal sex lives with the people that they love and are attracted to, so there’s no perversion going on there (well, maybe in some of their bedrooms). The idea of having sex with certain people is extremely repellent to me, while at the same time, it doesn’t seem sick or perverse, just yucky LOL.
I think we have to bring in the idea of things that are both not in the norm, and are potentially dangerous, and are repellent to most people in society. And as we well know, with things such as homosexuality and gender issues, those things were (and still are to some people) considered to be perversions. I think it’s when we took out the being dangerous part (who’s it hurting) that those things started to become more acceptable. They might still be considered icky to a lot of people, that don’t necessarily consider them to be perversions anymore.
